With the increasing awareness amongst people regarding aesthetics it is important for us as dental practitioners to not neglect the rest of the face. This course emphasizes on teaching our students the use of Botox and derma fillers in dentistry and how patients can benefit from it. We believe in expanding the horizons of our students so that they can master the art of cosmetic dentistry beyond just giving people a healthy and beautiful smile.
Here at AADE academy all the materials are provided to the student by the academy itself and we make sure that the students get familiarized with all the latest materials that are being used and they themselves use the material under supervised guidance of the faculty and gain confidence in carrying out procedures with ease.
AADE faculty ensures that every student practices on patients under the guidance of an expert faculty. Live demonstration on how to use derma fillers, Botox and lasers will be provided to the students first, followed by hands on practice session on patients. Constant guidance is provided to our students so that any doubts during any step of the procedure can be cleared at that very instant.
BOTOX is a trade name for botulinum toxin, which comes in the form of purified protein.Botulinum toxin affects and blocks the transmitters between the motor nerves that innervate the muscle. There is no loss of sensory feelings in the muscles. Once the motor nerve ending is interrupted the muscle cannot contract. When the muscle does not contract, the dynamic motion that causes the wrinkles in the skin will stop.
DERMAL FILLERS such as hyaluronic acid (juvederm and restylane) and calcium hydroxlapatite fillers (Radiesse) are commonly used to add volume to the face in the area of nasolabial folds, oral comissures, lips and marionette lines. As we age, collagen is lost in these facial areas and these lines start to deepen. These dermal fillers are injected right under the skin to plump up these areas so that these lines are much less noticeable.
The word laser is an acronym for “Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”.Its a device that converts electrical/chemical energy into light energy.
Laser has various hard and soft tissue applications. In hard tissue application, the laser is used for carries prevention, bleaching, restorative removal and curing, cavity preparation, dentinal hypersensitivity, growth modulation and for diagnostic purposes. Whereas soft tissue application includes wound healing, removal of hyperplasic tissue to uncovering of impacted or partially erupted tooth, photodynamic therapy for malignancies, photostimulation of herpetic lesion.
Lasers have been proven to be an effective tool to increase efficiency, specificity, ease, cost and comfort of the dental treatment.
The goal of smile designing is to develop a peaceful and stable masticatory system, where the teeth, tissues, muscles, skeletal structures and joints all function in harmony. Harmonizing an esthetics smile requires a perfect integration of facial composition and dental composition. The facial composition includes hard and soft tissues of the face. The dental composition relates more specifically to teeth and their relationship to gingival tissue. Various cosmetic dentistry procedures such as dental veneers, composite bonding, tooth bleaching and tooth implants are used to achieve this smile design.
Golden proportion is followed during smile designing, the proportion between various elements of a harmonious composition, in which the cohesive and segregative forces are equally balanced out and which has its various units in an aesthetically appealing respective proportion to each other is golden proportion.
The aim of facial rejuvenation treatment is to restore a youthful appearance to the human face. This can be achieved through surgical and non surgical options. Surgical procedures can restore facial symmetry through targeted procedures and facial restructuring and skin alterations. Whereas non surgical procedures can target specific depth of facial structures and treat localized facial concerns such as wrinkles, scars, hyperpigmentation and skin laxity.
Facial rejuvenation procedures can include:
